A message from the ASP President.

Dear all,

It is a great privilege to take on the role of President, and I look forward to working with our members, colleagues and international partners to continue advancing the objectives of the Australian Society of Periodontology.

I would first like to acknowledge and sincerely thank our previous Presidents, A/Profs Ryan Lee and Mehdi Valizadeh, for their outstanding contributions and leadership. Their commitment to the Society, particularly in fostering and strengthening our international relationships (within Asia and Europe), has helped establish an important foundation for our future. The connections they have developed have enhanced our international presence and created valuable opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange and professional advancement. I am grateful for the work they have undertaken and the legacy they leave for the Society.

Building on these achievements will be an important focus of my presidency. I hope to further strengthen our existing international relationships, while exploring new opportunities for collaboration and engagement. Equally, I am keen to continue building the Australian Society of Periodontology itself, ensuring that it remains a vibrant, relevant and valuable professional organisation for its members. This includes supporting professional development, encouraging greater member engagement, and creating opportunities for our collective expertise to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of our profession in the important field of periodontics.

A strong Society is built through the collective efforts of its members. I look forward to working alongside the State Branches and the broader membership to build on the achievements of those who have come before us and to ensure that the Society continues to grow and thrive.

I am honoured to serve as President and look forward to what we can achieve together.
